I had planned it all out. I wanted to have an early special Valentine’s night with my kiddos. And, Bertolli had recently issued a Weeknight Meal Challenge to a group of bloggers to try out their hearty, veggie packed soups to taste test. Bertolli carries a line of pastas, olive oil, sauces and frozen meals. Recently they debuted they new line of soups which come in four tasty flavors Chicken Minestrone, Roasted Chicken & Rotini Pasta, Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken, and Tuscan-Style Beef & Vegetables.
Since the baby in my belly has been craving tortellini lately, I choose to serve the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken. I also planned to serve homemade honey corn bread compliments of Money Saving Mom, and homemade mint chocolate brownies. Yum! After of course making the side dish and dessert from scratch by grinding my own flour, and adding only natural sugars and real butter. I spent extra time cutting the brownies into heart shapes and decorating the plates to make the night extra special.
Aren’t they cute?
And, the cornbread turned out super tasty!
And, then it was time for soup…
Doesn’t it look yummy? It turned out to be a crowd pleaser.
Little girl was especially happy! She kept asking for more (even after she had finished her brownie)!
We don’t purchase frozen meals often, but I was pleased that Bertolli included so many veggies in their soups. It was a very tasty blend along with pasta and flavorful herbs. Each bag of soup serves two. And, it turned out that for our family it was a rather hearty helping.
You can purchase Bertolli Soups in the freezer isle at your grocery store.
Disclosure: I was compensated by Bertolli to participate in the Weeknight Meal Special Challenge. But, all opinions are my own.
