Apple Dumplin’ Gang

by Mandy on September 17, 2010

I do not usually do this on the weekends… But this post is absolutely necessary!  I just couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t share this recipe with you all!  I made these for the first time on Friday, and my family has consumed them wildly{just don’t ask me how many of them I ate!}

Apple Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 2 whole Granny Smith Apples
  • 2 cans (8 Oz. Cans) Crescent Rolls
  • 2 sticks Butter
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Cinnamon, To Taste
  • 1 can (12 Oz.) Mountain Dew Soda

Preparation Instructions

Peel and core apples. Cut each apple into 8 slices each. {I cheated here and used my Pampered Chef Apple Corer/Slicer.} Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll. Place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan.

Melt butter {in the microwave works totally fine}, then add sugar and barely stir. Add vanilla, stir, and pour entire mixture over apples. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with ice cream, and spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top.

Oh. My. Soul! These dumplings are soooooo delicious!!  If you doubt it, just give them a try!! :) Now if you’ll excuse me, just typing out this recipe has made me want just one more!!

Happy Piggin’ Out Dining! :)
