First and foremost, Easter is a celebration of life – specifically Eternal Life! Without the death and resurrection of our Savior, there would be no reason to celebrate! I hope, in the midst of all the goodies and fun, we don’t lose site of the real celebration.
As a mom, I do love to spoil my kiddos whenever possible! I so look forward to birthdays, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter because they are perfect chances to say “yes” to sweet treats and unnecessary toys when the rest of the year is so full of “no.” Of course, those chances do not always bring a larger budget along with them! Just like with our everyday needs, I try my hardest to match up sales and coupons to be able to get the most for the money. I also try to keep things as “equal” as possible between the three kiddos.
This year, I have been able to take advantage of a couple of the movie coupons and rebate deals – still hoping to pull off the Toy Story deal for my little guy. I also took advantage of several of Target’s toy and game clearance items and markdowns. Paired up with great coupons, the lowered prices made for some sweet deals! We now have a couple new board games and two new sets of My Little Pony in the house, at least in my closet, hiding, waiting to be placed in baskets in a couple weeks. And of course, there is the extremely tempting deal on CHOCOLATE candy at CVS – although I have tried to leave the candy department to the grandparents!!
This Easter, we will actually be able to visit with family, so we are also looking forward to worshiping with friends and family on Easter Sunday, a large family dinner, and some good ol’ fashioned fellowship! And keep an eye out for pics of my family’s perfectly coordinated Easter outfits!! (My own personal tradition!)
I would love to hear how each of you plan to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord! Please share your plans and ideas with us, and link up at Alyssa’s Frugal Easter Eggstravaganza too!

We go to church that day and have a nice dinner. I do get the kids some candy and maybe each one gift (often it's a book—they all love to read!) but we don't spend a lot. (Can't—we have six kids!!!) My son's thirteenth birthday falls on Easter this year so I guess we will combine the celebrations!
